SALFI is a globally oriented and community-centered NGO formed in 2021 by Dr. Benjamin Onyegbula Chukwu and his wife Dr. Lizzy Chinwendu Ben-Chukwu. It sprouted from a dream to create a world free from poverty, illiteracy (Ignorance), and diseases. A society where individual talents and skills find full expression, high-quality education, and optimal health care are accessible to all.

SALFI places great emphasis on improving the quality of life of the rural population. The activities of SALFI started at Awgu in Enugu State Nigeria.
To actualize its goal, SALFI has three divisions:

1. Health care and social welfare division
2. Educational Support and Scholarship division
3. Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship division.

Through these three divisions, SALFI tries to lessen the burden of poverty, illiteracy, and diseases which are undoubtedly the three-pronged ballistic assaults on life in every rural community.

SALFI, through its health and social welfare division provides access to quality basic health care to patients who need medical emergency services including poor and unknown patients. We help in making immunization accessible to children, provide free medical services to the elderly, widows, and other less privileged individuals. SALFI also provides access to renewable energy (Solar light) and the internet to rural communities. SALFI also provides access to clean water, Internet and renewable light source to rural communities. 

Through the educational support and scholarship division, SALFI runs scholarship programs and gives educational support to bright and intelligent less privileged persons at all levels of education (Primary, secondary, and tertiary). It provides educational materials like online library and books to schools and pupils. SALFI organizes science and tech competitions between schools to discover very bright and innovative students for sports.

Through the youth empowerment and entrepreneurship division, SALFI provides funds and training for youths in areas of technological and digital skills. We offer support to entrepreneurs, start-ups and talented innovators. We help in employing young people directly and indirectly via their partner organizations like Steril-Gold Ltd, DDM, COPDEM Ltd, etc. We also help the physically challenged acquire skills that help them attain self-reliance.

Save Lives First Global Initiatives (SALFI) was borne from a genuine love for humanity with the goal of preventing deaths from treatable diseases, reducing the burden of illiteracy and empowering the young population. 

SALFI is a passionate community of people with a genuine mission to make impact by providing basic healthcare, education and empowerment to the poorest communities of the society.

We partner with several hospitals in Nigeria and abroad and expecting to partner with more health facilities in the coming months.

One of the benefits of volunteering with SALFI is also the training on basic life-saving skills like CPR and other EMS interventions.

Impact
SALFI provides for medical interventions for indigent patients and shortens intervention time for unknown patients in public health institutions

SALFI has facilitated the hospital bill payment of several indigent patients.

Many student are on their list for educational support and scholarship.
